The project mapped current and recent research into the impact
of Parental Aspirations and Parental Involvement on Young People's
Education.
The broad context of the search was research conducted (in the
United Kingdom) or reported in the past five years into education,
attainment and the impact of parental involvement or parental
aspirations on attainment. This included research and evaluations
of a range of current government level initiatives that may have
encouraged parental involvement.
Outcomes include a list of themes, which are as follows - Family
Literacy; ICT; Subject specific studies eg Maths; Homework; Home/
School relationships; Minority Ethnic Differences; Special
Educational Needs; Social Class; Race; Gender; Regeneration and
community initiatives; Lone Parents; Theoretical Issues
