Our Role

The Fast Track Teaching central support team is a department of CfBT Education Trust, and is based at our Queen’s Road offices in Reading. In addition, 49 Personal Leadership Tutors work for the team as consultants to support Fast Track teachers on a regional basis. CfBT Education Trust is responsible for:

  • Designing and delivering Fast Track Teaching's professional development provision at a local, regional and national level;
  • Providing Fast Track teachers with face-to-face visits and telephone coaching from Personal Leadership Tutors;
  • Delivering a varied programme of residential training courses for Fast Track teachers;
  • Providing a central helpline for Fast Track Teaching's stakeholders (including schools, local authorities and Fast Track teachers themselves);
  • The administration of applications from Fast Track teachers for career breaks and extensions to the programme;
  • Developing and managing an online community to enable Fast Track teachers to share their learning and best practice;
  • The administration of any ICT equipment provided to Fast Track teachers;
  • Designing and developing a contact database to record all interactions with schools, Fast Track teachers and other stakeholders including the National College for School Leadership (NCSL), and to generate weekly and monthly statistical reports for NCSL;
  • Implementing quality assurance and evaluation systems to ensure that the programme is delivered to the highest possible standards and that its impact is effectively measured;
  • Writing and delivering a regular e-bulletin.
