Fast Track Teaching
Fast Track Teaching is an accelerated leadership
development programme for serving teachers in the early stages of
their careers who demonstrate excellent leadership and the
potential to rapidly progress to senior leadership roles such as
advanced skills teacher (AST), assistant or deputy headteacher.
Fast Track Teaching offers a personalised programme of coaching,
mentoring and development activities, including access to an online
community, to support teachers in developing the necessary skills
and experience needed to take on these roles in education.
CfBT Education Trust currently manages the professional
development, advice and guidance, and events provision of Fast
Track Teaching on behalf of the National College for School
Leadership (NCSL).
It also manages and develops the online community for Fast Track
teachers, and provides quality assurance and evaluation systems to
ensure that the Fast Track Teaching programme is delivered to the
highest possible standards and that the impact of the programme can
be measured.

The National College for School Leadership (NCSL) took over the
operational management of the Fast Track Teaching programme from
the Department for Education and Skills in September
2006.
