Young, Gifted & Talented Programme
Excellence Hubs
CfBT Education Trust, in its role as manager of the YG&T
Programme, has established nine regional Excellence Hubs led by
higher education institutions.
The Excellence Hubs are key partners and providers within the
Programme - delivering a diverse range of outreach provision to
gifted and talented learners including master classes, specialist
subject activities and blended/on-line learning throughout and
outside of the school year.
Hubs are found in each of the nine government office regions:

Excellence Hubs play a key role in CfBT’s vision for the
development of the Young Gifted and Talented Learner Academy. A
major point of service delivery to all learners across England,
each hub has a target of at least 20% of places to be provided to
learners from disadvantaged backgrounds. All will offer 10% of
places without charge to those eligible for free school meals or
education maintenance allowance. Over and above this, hubs will
also offer subsidised places to a further group of G&T learners
from relatively disadvantaged backgrounds.
Hubs will actively collaborate with the established Gifted and
Talented Regional Partnerships and other service providers,
schools, local authorities and other stakeholders within and across
regions.
