INCLUDE is dedicated to tackling the crises of social exclusion
among young people.
INCLUDE has a proven and evolving methodology for working and
engaging effectively with very troubled young people. Most of these
young people span agency boundaries and therefore INCLUDE’s
response to meeting their need is embedded in true,
multi-disciplinary practice.
In order to tackle the multiple problems that disaffected
children and young people experience, our approach brings together
education, social services, police, youth offending teams,
businesses, Learning and Skills Councils and health
authorities.
Our strategic aim is to have a major impact on social exclusion
by enabling the redeployment of resources from crisis intervention
into prevention.
We do this by offering a range of services, including:
- Prevention and Intervention
(transition/reintegration): in schools with pupils
aged 4-13 and their families, engaging all appropriate services in
support of the young person: behaviour support, educational
psychologists, social workers, youth workers and child and
adolescent mental health practitioners.
- Working with excluded pupils (Pre 16):
providing full time 25-hour programmes, re-engaging young people in
mainstream learning activities.
- Working with socially excluded young people (Post
16): Delivering vocational education, training and basic
skills support for those participating in education or training,
struggling to access and sustain.
- Offering intensive one -to -one personal development.
- Providing work experience opportunities.
- Recognised e2e national provider status.
- Intensive support: developing and sustaining
bespoke programmes for offenders, care leavers and substance
misusers. e.g. INCLUDE’s Turnaround Project to support young people
as they strive to end their substance misuse.
- Innovation and Change: delivering INCLUDE’s
Flex Project, offering short-term, change-focused intervention; and
aBc2 - an intensive individualised learning programme working with
young mums 16–19 who wish to re-engage with education.
Through a combination of multi-agency working, individual
support for the young person and engagement with the family and
wider community, we aim to bring about change.
