Families, Home and the Community
Parents, carers and families are encouraged to take an active
part in the progress of our students. Families are actively
supported to be involved with the learning of their young people
through effective home-school partnerships and personal links with
Academy staff. They are essential partners in the development of
young people’s learning goals, aspirations, monitoring progress and
the broadening of their horizons.
Parents, carers and families are also learners within the community
who have access to the Academy through an extended programmes of
social and learning opportunities.
CfBT Academies are places for the whole community to enjoy, visit
and use as a learning and leisure facility.
The flexibility of the Academies, also reflected in the school
curriculum, is replicated in the evenings, at weekends and in the
school holidays to serve the needs of the whole community. Members
of the local community are welcomed and encouraged to be full and
active learners and participants in the life of the Academy.
