Improving Evaluative Writing Skills And Completing Ofsted’s
School Self-Evaluation Form (SEF)
This module has been designed to support headteachers and senior
leaders in the completion of the SEF.
Participants will be taken through a range of supporting
materials similar in form to the evidence base in their own
schools.
The aims of the module are to enable headteachers and senior
leaders to:
- devise efficient and effective methods of collating and
analysing the full range of evidence they have gathered through
school self-evaluation, including that generated by external
agencies and other staff about children’s learning and
achievements;
- develop their skills in evaluating the evidence base and arrive
at summary judgements;
- improve their evaluative writing skills;
- complete the SEF by responding to the key questions and prompts
in each section.
