Part 2 – Distance learning
The participant is invited to complete 5 out of a possible 26
modules. Each module has an activity that is sent to the supporting
tutor for comment. Once these five modules have been satisfactorily
completed a certificate will be awarded. For the purposes of
certification it is expected that completion of a module should
take no more than four hours, although there is a wealth of
additional resources to explore and participants are at liberty to
delve into the remaining modules.
The modules have been divided into four
strands
- Further Education / Adult and Community Learning – 10
modules
- Workplace – 6 modules
- Offender – 6 modules
- Embedded Learning – 4 modules
Each strand contains modules covering:
- Reading
- Writing
- Numeracy
- Speaking & listening
- ICT
- Organisation skills
Whilst there are no mandatory modules all participants are
encouraged to study the Dyslexia and inclusive learning module
followed by further modules from their relevant strand. Those
participants that may use, or wish to find out more about the
Embedded Learning Materials may select a module from this
strand.
