The new Skills for Life Improvement Programme, delivered
throughout England and Wales by CfBT Education Trust on behalf of
the Quality Improvement Agency (QIA), aims to build on the work of
previous Skills for Life programmes and initiatives by supporting
individuals and organisations working in all post-16 learning
settings through:
- professional development of the staff at all levels
- supporting the implementation of a whole organisation approach
to Skills for Life learning
- promoting and supporting innovative teaching and learning
- developing and transferring effective practice
Professional development
The Skills for Life Improvement Programme offers opportunities for
staff at all levels, in all learning settings, to gain professional
qualifications and continue to develop thinking, skills and
practice.
A whole organisation approach to quality
improvement
The Skills for Life Improvement Programme
offers opportunities for the supported use of tried and tested
quality improvement tools and techniques to implement a whole
organisation approach to improving literacy, numeracy and language
for all learners.
Innovation in teaching and learning
The Skills for Life Improvement Programme offers opportunities to
engage in a range of activities designed to refresh, strengthen and
share effective practice to ensure learners engage, progress and
