SCHOOL SELF-EVALUATION GETS SMARTER: SEE STRATIS E-SUITE AT THE EDUCATION SHOW 2007

Stratis e-Suite, the new secure web-based school self-evaluation and improvement planning solution from CfBT Education Trust, will be showcased at this year’s Education Show. The innovative self-evaluation tool, which provides the most comprehensive profile of school self-evaluation that has ever been available to schools and Local Authorities, is already helping schools across the country work smarter.

Demonstrations of Stratis e-Suite will be available for visitors to the Education Show at CfBT Education Trust’s stand IT-N60 from March 22-24 2007. Stratis has been developed by experts with professional backgrounds in school inspection and helps schools and advisers comprehensively plan and manage their review and improvement processes.

Stratis e-Suite is closely aligned to Ofsted’s inspection framework and distinctive versions are available for secondary, primary, special schools and nurseries as well as independent and international schools. It records and stores evidence electronically, and helps schools make the judgements required to create and maintain a high quality Self-Evaluation Framework (SEF). With Stratis e-Suite, schools can take the outcomes of self-evaluation and make them the cornerstone of their improvement plan. They can also use it to support evidence-based school improvement conversations with the Local Authority, their School Improvement Partner and Ofsted.

“Stratis e-Suite provides significant benefits to school management teams over and above completion of the SEF,” said Andy Savin, Stratis Business Manager, at CfBT Education Trust.

“It works at whole school and department levels and lets a range of people get involved in school improvement, including headteachers, governors, school leadership teams, middle managers, and LA advisers. Stratis helps schools to move from description to genuine evaluation in their approach to school improvement.”

Stratis e-Suite graduated from the Moderated School Self Review (MSSR) programme developed in Lincolnshire and East Sussex School Improvement Services that are managed by CfBT Education Trust. It is comprised of five related modules. These are:

1. Moderated School Self-Review (MSSR)

2. Moderated Middle Management Self-Review (MMMSR)

3. Single School Improvement Plan (SSIP)

4. Linked Improvement Plans (LIP)

5. Control Centre, which allows users to control individual access to all parts of the system.

Jill Marston, Headteacher at Ling Moor Primary School, Lincolnshire said, “Nowadays self-evaluation is at the centre of everything we do. Self-evaluation drives any organisation’s improvement and it certainly drives our school improvement. The Stratis e-Suite materials offer us the tools to be able to do that and to help us to realise our school’s aims and values.”
