OFSTED APPOINTS CfBT IN NORTH OF ENGLAND
CfBT Education Trust has been successful in bidding for the
recent tender to manage inspection services on behalf of the
government regulator for education standards, Ofsted. From 1
September 2009 CfBT will be responsible for delivering inspection
services not only in schools (state and independent) but also
colleges, prisons, work-based learning providers and teacher
training institutions in the entire north of England for six
years.

CfBT REPORT CALLS FOR ‘JOBS AND SKILLS’
PACKAGE
A report published by CfBT Education Trust today calls upon the
Chancellor to fund a ‘Jobs and Skills’ package for 16-17 year olds
as part of his April Budget but to reject calls to raise the
participation age to 18 - or even 17 - from this September.

ESTELLE MORRIS TO SPEAK AT EDUCATION RESEARCH
LAUNCH
Baroness Estelle Morris, President of the National Children’s
Bureau and former Secretary of State for Education, will appear as
keynote speaker at the launch of CfBT Education Trust’s publication
Evidence Matters, on 12 March 2009 at the Town Hall in Reading.
