Every local authority is required to have a
social partnership often referred to as the WAMG (Workforce
Agreement Monitoring Group). In Lincolnshire this has been in
existence from the start of the workforce reform programme.
Membership comprises a range of headteachers, the main teacher and
headteacher associations including the NUT and those representing
support staff as well as representatives from the local authority
including human resources as well as from CfBT who have a 10-year
contract with Lincolnshire County Council to deliver the School
Improvement Service. The governing bodies are also
represented. The meetings take place approximately
termly.
The main concerns of the WAMG comprise:
- monitoring, collating and recommending
actions regarding compliance of the National Agreement, performance
management arrangements and issues of staff well-being and
morale;
- identifying the induction, training and
development needs of all sections of the whole school
workforce;
- approving the LSIS training programme and the
partner providers;
- monitoring and collating evidence related to
recruitment and retention of members of the workforce;
- discussing and making recommendations
relevant to Lincolnshire on issues raised by the National WAMG or
by other organisations and agencies such as the TDA and DCSF;
- ensuring that matters discussed and
recommendations made are fed back to members and appropriate
organisations and personnel.
This website provides information about the remit of the
WAMG, details of its membership and a record of its monitoring
evidence and discussions.
