Welcome to the Lincolnshire Newly Qualified Teacher area on the website

On behalf of all our colleagues at CfBT, we are delighted to welcome you to Lincolnshire to begin your teaching career. We share the title of NQT Induction Co-ordinators for Lincolnshire but actually we are part of a team of people within the CfBT School Improvement Service, who are constantly working to improve the support for newly qualified teachers and the monitoring of induction in our schools. The team also comprises Rodney Mayes, who also works for CfBT.

The team works in close partnership with other parts of the Local Authority to make our provision as effective as we can. We have particularly important links with Rosie Smithson and June Bartlett of Hyder Business Services (HBS), who make and maintain the records of our 300+ NQTs, Cathy O’Reilly, the County Council’s Corporate Recruitment Manager, Ian Woodbridge, Area Inclusion Co-ordinators, who work for the Emotional Behavioural Support Service (EBSS), Sarah Barratt of the Early Years Support Service and with Alison Smith, the Local Authority named contact for NQTs. We also work with CfBT’s East Lincolnshire Graduate Teacher Team and Bishop Grosseteste College, as we consider it essential to maintain our knowledge of, and continuity with, initial teacher training.

This website is a recent addition to the support we offer to NQTs. It is designed to support Headteachers, Induction Tutors and NQTs during the Induction Period as well as providing general information about NQT Induction.

We will provide those involved with induction with relevant updates and information through our monthly newsletters, and highlight any relevant courses or meetings through the information section of the website. Also included here will be all the relevant forms needed to both register and complete induction as an NQT in Lincolnshire in 2007-2008.

There are further pages providing Guidance and Support, which contain key induction related documents from the DCSF and the Training and Development Agency (TDA). The Support page is dedicated to providing specific guidance and materials for NQTs and Induction Tutors in Lincolnshire schools. If you are unable to find what you need, please don’t hesitate to get in touch - we will be pleased to help if we can.

We hope you find these pages valuable and useful. We, at CfBT, wish you enjoyment, fulfilment and success in the first and subsequent years of your teaching career.
