Sustainable Schools
The School Improvement Service is fully committed to supporting
the national Framework for Sustainable Schools. Information on this
can be found at: www.teachernet.gov.uk/sustainableschools
Working in co-operation with Lincolnshire County Council we aim
to:
- Assist schools to develop a
curriculum and whole school approach to enhance students’
understanding of sustainable development.
- Help schools evaluate their
own sustainable development performance in order to establish
policies and practices.
- Assist schools to identify
ways to promote sustainable development through their
communications, services, contracts and partnerships with key
stakeholders.
Two
Sustainable Schools Advisors are available to support you. They
have a handbook based around the Framework for Sustainable
Schools giving ideas, contacts, grants, curriculum resources and
showcasing the great work already happening in Lincolnshire
schools. Click on the icon to the right to access the handbook
page.

An environmental audit of your school is a
good activity for your students to undertake to be able to then
construct an action plan for your school. This is also an essential
part of the Eco-schools programme. The advisors have developed new
Environmental Audit sheets that you may wish to use. Click on the
icon to the right to access the audit sheets.
