School Improvement Partnership Network

One of the most pleasant aspects of the job is hearing about the outcomes of the bids awarded by SIS for school improvement partnership activities.  I am delighted to say that we are now funding further initiatives for 2007 - 2008.  52 bids were funded which followed the following criteria:

  • the activities support one or more aspects of school improvement often focused on themes and aspects not funded through other funding steams;
  • the activities must involve collaborative activity involving a number of schools;
  • the emphasis is on partnerships and networks and not on an individual school.  The partnerships are normally geographical, thematic or by type of school;
  • they should be as inclusive as possible;
  • a named co-ordinator must be identified who will be responsible for inviting ideas from interested schools;
  • convenors should be prepared to attend a brief termly evening meeting and to provide a brief report on activities.

The first convenor's meeting will take place at Horncastle on 16th October starting with a light buffet at 16.30.  it should be finished c. 6:00 pm.

All successful schools should by now have received confirmation of thier bids.  If not, or you wish further information contact hchesworth@cfbt.com  telephone: 01522 552829.
