Gifted & Talented

The Gifted and Talented Strand is one of the three core strands of the Education Improvement Partnership:

  • Extended opportunities for gifted and talented pupils;
  • Access to full time learning mentors for pupils who need them;
  • Learning support units to tackle disruption.
  • A fourth strand of funding is available to target particular local issues, as identified by the schools in each cluster. In the Lincolnshire clusters Teaching and Learning has been identified as the 4th strand.

Gifted and Talented funding provides extended opportunities for identified pupils. Provision for Gifted and Talented pupils is not a bolt on but and integral part of effective teaching and learning. For this reason the Teaching and Learning and Gifted and Talented strands have been linked and the Regional Gifted and Talented Coordinator also has responsibility for development of the Teaching and Learning strand.  Further details, resources and support for schools can be found on the Gifted and Talented page of the CfBT website.
