Primary/Nursery/Special Education
Newsflash
The core purpose of the Primary School Improvement Team is to
raise standards to ensure all pupils are making good progress
towards achieving their full potential. To achieve this we are
seeking to create a more focused and integrated strategy for school
improvement including: a proactive approach to schools causing
concern to include their early identification through an analysis
of trends and patterns, a closer alignment of our resources to
target those schools with greatest needs, and through effective
partnership with schools build the capacity of schools to improve.
We will also seek to implement the Government’s Primary Strategy,
ensuring that schools keep teaching and learning at the heart of
school improvement, encourage innovation, continue to disseminate
good and effective practice, support partnership working and help
prepare schools for the
new Ofsted Framework and the NRwS, in particular the work on
the ‘single conversation with schools’. The service will continue
to support the County Council in meeting the Ofsted Action Plan in
terms of the development of some better structural arrangement for
managing small schools.
