Postponement : Headteacher Regional Workshops on the Primary Curriculum

We are very aware of the significant pressure there has been on Headteachers this term to attend a variety of meetings, training sessions and workshops therefore we have decided to postpone the Headteacher regional workshops on the Primary Curriculum that had been planned for January 2010 (dates in the COTS booklet). QCDA are appointing Regional Advisers to support Local Authorities and schools with reviewing the curriculum and understanding the new framework, we will be working closely with our adviser and expect to be able to run the workshops during the summer term.

Primary schools in the Spalding, Boston and South Holland areas

We have had a request as to whether we can find out the names of Primary schools in the area who are teaching history as a separate subject area rather than through integrated/combined themes.  We would be grateful if you could let us know if you are a school which  teaches history in this way.  Please contact hchesworth@cfbt.com or telephon: 01522 552829.

Middle Management Development : Leading from the Middle (LfTM)

The National College for School and Children's Leadership (NCSCL) has been running the Leading from the Middle Progrmme for a number of years.  During this period, several hundred Lincolnshire teachers have been through the programme.  Due to changes the expectation is now that training will be based around locally-based groups of 15 to 20 participants.  Although this may mean one school, it is much more likely that schools will want to form clusters.  Numbers are also limited within each region.  Further details are on the attached letter and should you be interested in the programme please return the attached faxback to Hazel Chesworth or email hchesworth@cfbt.com at which time you will be contacted by Sue Ashe the Lincolnshire co-ordinator.
