Strategy for School Improvement

Lincolnshire County Council has a statutory duty to monitor, support, challenge and intervene where necessary to ensure the highest possible standards in schools. The county council, from Septemebr 2002, has contracted the responsibility for school improvement to the Centre for British Teachers (CfBT) who manage the Lincolnshire School Improvement Service (SIS) through a ten-year contract. Consultation with schools was held in May and June 2005 and we have found the feedback valuable in creating the strategy set out in this paper:
