As a not-for-profit organisation we commit around £1million of
our surpluses every year for practice-based educational
research.There is an ambition within CfBT to ensure that the
organisation’s investment in educational research has a direct
impact on beneficiaries via practitioners and policy makers. This
investment is now channelled through our Evidence for Education
(EfE) Research Programme; a distinct and original research
programme designed by CfBT with the intention of helping to
establish education as an evidence-based profession.
The EfE Programme aims to:
- Add value to educational outcomes through better access by
practitioners to sound knowledge and guidance on how best to use
it;
- Encourage approaches to knowledge creation that integrate
research with practical experience (known as the D&R
approach);
- Provide leadership in pioneering and demonstrating
evidence-based practices;
- Contribute the national and international debate on key
educational issues;
- Improve both the supply and demand for educational
research.
