Foundation Degree (FdA) Professional Studies in Primary
Education
University of Brighton, School of Education
This foundation degree is a part-time school based award for
teaching assistants working at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Studied
part-time over 2.5 years, students will spend a day a week at
university and up to 8 Saturdays over the year.
The award links to HLTA, and provides a route to the BA (Hons)
Professional Studies in Learning and Development, typically
taken over two academic years, and postgraduate routes to
Qualified Teacher Status.
Next course starts April 2009.
Current course fees are:
£400 Stage 1 (March to June)
£950 Stage 2 (September to June)
£1,150 Stage 3 (September to June)
Stages 1 and 2 can be fully funded if
undertaken as a route to HLTA assessment. See HLTA funding for
