Good & Effective Practice
The East Sussex School Improvement Strategy has two main
elements:
1. The research, development and dissemination of effective
practice for the benefit of all schools;
2. Intervention in schools causing concern (“intervention in
inverse proportion to success.”)
The dissemination of effective practice is therefore a key element
in the East Sussex strategy for school improvement. It is one of
the most positive aspects of the strategy because it recognises and
celebrates the many strengths found in East Sussex schools. It
ensures that teachers, senior and middle leaders, teaching
assistants, support staff and governors collaborate within and
across schools to recognise and develop best practice.
The School Improvement Service (SIS) plays a key role in
facilitating dissemination between schools across the county and
also in helping schools access models of good practice from further
afield. We also have well-established links with the higher
education research community, which further supports this
process.
The East Sussex School Improvement Service Dissemination Strategy
is therefore an important part of our overall school improvement
strategy.
