Schools in East Sussex use the Renewed Framework for Mathematics. The main aim in teaching mathematics is that pupils enjoy the mathematics curriculum and make good progress.

 

In East Sussex we are committed to:

  • building upon the good practice that has been developed since the introduction of the National Numeracy Strategy;
  • providing support for central and school based training for all teachers;
  • supporting the mathematics subject leader through termly cluster meetings;
  • developing the role of the leading mathematics teachers in providing peer support;
  • offering schools support including coaching and staff training;
  • supporting schools with the implementation of the Renewed Framework for mathematics including the use of the APP materials.
