Making Good Progress Pilot

Improving progress through Key Stages 2 and 3

Launched on 6 June 2007 by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills, the MGP pilot involves nearly 500 schools from 10 local authorities across England. This major two-year pilot runs from September 2007 until August 2009. Forty-six  East Sussex schools are involved in the pilot – 37 primary and 9 secondary schools. The MGP pilot is trialling new ways to assess, report and stimulate progress in schools, so that no child stalls or gets stuck at any stage.
