Connexions
Providing advice and guidance to young people is a vital part of
the CfBT Education Trust’s work.
It runs the Connexions service in West London, Richmond and
Oxfordshire and has built up years of expertise in this area.
Connexions is a free, confidential, comprehensive practical
advice service available to all young people aged 13 - 19.
The ambition is to help young people achieve whether they are at
school, at college, working or not working and to make a real
difference to their prospects in the world of employment, education
and training.
It is a one stop point of contact, bringing together many
different sources of information, offering personal support on
areas like careers, training, housing and financial advice.
The services are delivered through a network of well equipped
local centres, and visits and open days to schools and colleges and
wider community outreach help to spread the word about these
services..
First class personal advisers are on hand at the centres to help
with issues that young people may need help on. The advice and
guidance covers topics like:
- career choices at 16
- dealing with job interviews
- college courses
- housing advice
- family planning
- financial advice
