Connexions

Providing advice and guidance to young people is a vital part of the CfBT Education Trust’s work.

We currently run the Connexions service in the London Boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kingston, Merton, Richmond and Sutton.

Connexions is a free, confidential, comprehensive practical advice service available to all young people aged 13 - 19.

CfBT’s objective for its Connexions services is to reduce the number of young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) by helping them to make informed choices about their futures.

This is achieved by continuously involving young people in shaping their service. Examples include: working innovatively with local schools and colleges to develop youth interview panels for new personal advisers, youth panels to advise on a wide range of issues from refurbishment to bidding for funds and focus groups for consultation on developments such as newsletters and websites.

Connexions is a one stop point of contact, bringing together many different sources of information, offering personal support on areas like careers, training, housing and financial advice.

Services are delivered through a network of well equipped local centres, visits and open days to schools and colleges and wider community outreach.
