CfBT Education Trust works with five next step networks in South
London, Berkshire, Durham, Oxfordshire and West London.
In Durham and Berkshire CfBT is the lead organisation. In West
London we work with Lifetime Development to deliver the role. In
South London and Oxfordshire CfBT is a sub contractor.
We form partnerships with a range of organisations in the
community and voluntary sectors. These include organisations
working with lone parents and offenders and the disabled.
By using these networks it enables us to get the widest range of
people who may need the service.
The advice is designed for adults, aged 20 and over. Next step
promotes the importance of learning and work.
Often we meet people who have not progressed beyond five GCSEs
or their first BTEC diploma and sometimes we work with those who
need to address basic skills in literacy and numeracy.
The advice is tailored to individual needs and include:
- Personal career development
- Qualifications advice and learning opportunities
- Information about the job market
- CV writing
Some of our other adult guidance work, funded through the ESF,
run alongside next step services and extend the range of adults we
work with.
