INCLUDE is part of the CfBT Education Trust and provides a
dedicated service focused on the issue of social exclusion.
The team works with some of the most challenging young people
and seeks solutions for those who are in danger of falling out of
the school system and employment and training in the future.
Working across agencies such as education, children’s services,
offending teams and health authorities prevention and early
intervention are the keytools adopted to change the life chances of
young people for the better.
INCLUDE works with excluded pupils and also with those beyond
the age of sixteen who need support and advice.
By combining multi agency working, support for individual young
people and work with families INCLUDE seeks to bring about
change.
Within the Turnaround Project, in South Wales, INCLUDE has been
successfully tackling the issue of young people and drugs
misuse.
The scope of the service covers:
- Training teachers and other professionals in prevention
- Primary projects designed to work with those experiencing
difficulties at school
- Work with excluded pupils to provide them with an alternative
education
- Delivery of vocational education, training and basic skills
