CfBT Brunei currently has an ongoing
contract with the Bruneian Ministry of Education:
CfBT has been working in partnership with the Ministry of
Education in Brunei Darussalam since 1984. CfBT selects,
supports and manages over 250 teachers of English, working in
primary and secondary schools and 6th form colleges in
support of the Ministry's bilingual Malay-English education
policy.
Through performance management, assessment for
learning and professional development, CfBT strives to identify,
measure and share effective practice in order to raise overall
standards of English and improve examination results. Our key
projects are to assist the Ministry with implementing a national
English Programme for Pre-School at the beginning of the education
system, and targeted initiatives to improve public examination
achievement among upper secondary students.
Our project management services include
teacher recruitment, briefing, orientation, accommodation, health
and welfare support. Teachers and families are supported by 30
staff in offices in Bandar Seri Begawan as well as in other
districts. Our teachers come mostly from the British Isles,
Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa.
