Nursery News...
The newly refurbished Silchester Manor Day Nursery was formally
opened by Wendy Woodcock (Director of Schools & Nurseries at
CfBT Education Trust) and Maria Biscardi (the Nursery Manager) on
Thursday 15th October 2009.
CfBT Education Trust’s Chief Executive, Senior
Management Team, Trustees and staff from the Schools &
Nurseries Team plus CfBT’s Nursery Managers from other nurseries in
the South were all invited to the event.
Guests received a guided tour of the new site
and proposed a champagne toast to the future of Silchester Manor
Day Nursery; this was marked by Wendy Woodcock and Maria Biscardi
cutting a ribbon to the main entrance of the building. Children
from each group at the nursery also presented CfBT Education Trust
representatives with pieces of their artwork.

Maria Biscardi, Nursery Manager at Silchester
Manor Day Nursery commented: ‘This is an exciting new start for
Silchester Manor following the closure of the school provision at
the end of the last academic year. With the extra space, we have
focused all our resources on improving the facilities for children
aged three months to five years. So far, this has involved
renovations, refurbishment, and a localised marketing
campaign.
‘All of the Silchester team are so pleased with the
new look, we have had a dramatic increase in enquiries and bookings
and the children seem very happy in their new interactive, modern
environment. It was a lovely idea to mark the recent changes and
all the hard work of the nursery staff and those at CfBT with this
launch day.’
